Homelike comfort in the beautiful city of Budapest Fraser Residence Budapest

Whilst visiting Budapest for a few days I stayed at the Fraser Residence, which made my traveling experience so comfortable and home like. It would have been a perfect choice even if I was staying for a lot longer.

What makes this hotel different from any other in the same category is the space and amenities of the residences. Each of these come complete with a kitchen, dining area and spacious living room. Each room also has a balcony large enough to fit a table and few chairs, which is a nice place to relax in after a long day of exploring the beautiful city of Budapest.

I was pleasantly surprised to find how well equipped the kitchen was and that each residence is supplied with a washing machine and a dryer, which is convenient for long term traveler. Usually hotels charge extra for laundry service. All in all I felt very comfortable and I found Fraser Residence to be the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for spacious and homelike accommodation.

When I first arrived, I was greeted by the helpful staff in the reception and given a map and suggestions of what to see and do in Budapest. Believe me, this vivid and spectacular city takes more than two days to be explored and experienced properly. The staff also gave me directions to the places I was eager to visit and recommendations of restaurants and sights nearby.

The breakfast is served in a nice little backyard terrace surrounded by greenery. As I was enjoying my breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised by the attentive dining room staff offering everyone a freshly made fruit and vegetable juice – in fact, each day a different type of juice was served each day.

While having breakfast, the hotel guests are greeted by the general manager of the Fraser Residence, Alain. I really like the personal approach in getting to know the hotel guests, their needs and reviews. I had a chance to have a chat with him and get to know more facts and details about Budapest and Fraser Residences around the world.

When talking about Fraser Residence Budapest, I have to mention the location – the hotel is close to the centre, but not in the noisy, crowded by tourists part of the city. It’s 15 minutes walk to get to the very centre of Budapest and if the weather is nice, it’s worth to walk this distance as the city is very architectural and full of beautiful churches and old time buildings worth to see. If you don’t feel like walking, there is a convenient public transport network and relatively cheap taxis. Half a block away from the Fraser Residence, there’s a shopping centre Corvin Plaza, cinema and a metro station. The city centre is two stops away. Also, next to the Fraser Residence, there’s a spacious and equipped Wellness-centre where hotel guests can get a special offer.

Experience Budapest

I was only here for two days and didn’t get to experience Budapest in it’s whole, but I did have time for some sightseeing and typical activities. I found a lot of useful information and ticket offers in the Fraser Residence, also the staff was very helpful with suggesting must-see sights and advising the best ways to get there from the hotel.

On the first day I visited the central area of Budapest, the small tourist streets, the beautiful parliament building and saw few of the 11 in total bridges, which connect Buda and Pest sides of the city over the river Danube. If I had more time, I would have definitely taken a nightly cruise tour. On the Buda side, I visited the castle, which is a beautiful memorial of the Medieval and Baroque times.

On the second day, I visited something this city is famous for – thermal baths. There are several, but after being given good recommendations by Fraser Residence staff, I chose the Szechenyi Thermal Bath. It was built almost 100 years ago and the beautiful architecture of the building and decorative elements of the interior and exterior of the bath and pool areas are great witnesses of this historical time. This experience is very relaxing and I suggest it to everyone who visits Budapest.
